FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Choosing the right wedding photographer is crucial for capturing your special day. At Bushel + Peck Photo, our team of experienced Texas wedding photographers proudly serves couples throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the Texas Hill Country Wedding Region (including Austin, Houston, and San Antonio) and East Texas.
Our clients choose us because of our three unique qualities that set us apart:
Personalized Experience: We believe your love story is unique, and your wedding photos should reflect that. We take the time to understand your vision, ensuring we capture the moments that matter most to you.
Tailored Packages: Our Build Your Own Package tool allows you to customize your photography coverage to fit your needs and budget. Plus, our intuitive questionnaire guides you step by step, making sure you don’t overlook important details. We also offer automatic discounts for weekday and non-peak season weddings to ensure you get the best value.
Local Expertise: As seasoned photographers serving Texas couples, we have extensive knowledge of the most beautiful venues, scenic backdrops, and unique photo opportunities in Dallas, Fort Worth, the Texas Hill Country, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and East Texas.
We combine technical expertise with artistic creativity to ensure your photos are not just pictures, but works of art. With advanced equipment and innovative techniques, we capture every detail — from emotional moments to intricate décor — so you can relive your wedding day for years to come.
The number of photographers you need for your wedding largely depends on the size of your event and the specific photography needs you have. Here are some factors to consider:
Size of the event: A larger wedding with more guests and a longer itinerary may require more photographers to ensure all the important moments are captured.
Style of photography: If you’re interested in getting multiple angles and perspectives, having two photographers can be especially beneficial.
Budget: Hiring additional photographers can increase the cost of your wedding photography, but it may be worth it if you want comprehensive coverage of your event.
In general, we recommend having at least two photographers for weddings with more than 100 guests. This ensures that all the important moments are captured and no detail goes unnoticed. With two photographers, you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that all the special moments from your day are captured and preserved for a lifetime.
To book your wedding photography with B+P, follow these steps:
Build Your Package: Based on your needs, build the perfect photography package for your wedding. We offer a range of packages to fit different budgets and requirements.
Submit Your Package for Review: Once you’ve built your package, submit it to us. We will review it to ensure it meets your needs and is the best fit for your wedding day. During this step, we’ll also confirm our availability for your date.
Sign the Contract & Pay Retainer: Your date is not considered booked until both your signed contract and non-refundable retainer are received.
Confirmation: Once completed, your date is officially secured, and we’ll begin planning your timeline and photography experience.
The number of hours of photography you need for your wedding depends on several factors, including the size of your event, the timeline of your day, and the specific photography needs you have.
Typically, 8-10 hours of photography coverage is sufficient for most weddings. This allows for coverage of the pre-ceremony preparations, the ceremony, and the reception. If you have a larger wedding or a more complex timeline with additional events, you may need more hours of coverage.
During your timeline planning, our experienced team will work with you to ensure there is enough time to capture the things that are important to you!

We offer flexible payment options to make booking your wedding photography stress-free.
We accept digital payments and provide customizable payment plans to suit your budget. Final balances are due 30 days before your wedding day to ensure everything is set for your big day.
All of our Texas wedding photography packages include professionally edited, print-ready JPEG images. While we do not provide RAW files, our expertly edited images are carefully curated to deliver the best representation of your special day.
At B+P, we understand that the timing of your wedding day is important, and we are here to help you make the best decisions for you and your day. Traditionally, couples would wait to see each other until the ceremony, but you may opt for a private “first look” which allows for capturing the intimate and final quiet moments before your marriage and celebration with guests. If you choose to have a first look, it can provide additional time for more wedding portraits or even get them out of the way earlier.
We always recommend considering the timing of your ceremony in relation to sunset and your full timeline, and to allocate at least an hour after the ceremony for family photos, wedding party photos, and couple portraits. Ultimately, the decision of whether to have a first look is a personal choice, and we respect each couple’s preference, while always striving to help you make the most of your wedding photography.
Our wedding photography pricing includes travel to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the Texas Hill Country Wedding Region (including Austin, Houston, and San Antonio), and East Texas. For locations outside these areas, there may be a small travel fee.
If your wedding is more than 1-2 hours outside these regions, we will provide a custom travel quote that may include accommodation costs to ensure our team is well-rested and prepared to capture your special day. For locations beyond these areas, we’ll provide a custom travel quote during the booking process.
At B+P, we place a high value on communication. Throughout the wedding photography process, we will maintain regular contact with you to gather information and provide updates. Additionally, we are committed to providing helpful tips and suggestions to ensure your day runs smoothly.
To accommodate our clients’ schedules, we offer the convenience of virtual meetings. This allows you to easily connect with us and discuss your timeline and any other important details. Before your wedding day, you will have the opportunity to meet with your photographer and ensure that all of your photography needs are met.
Yes! Bushel + Peck carries full liability insurance through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Many Texas wedding venues require vendors to be insured, and we’re happy to provide proof of coverage upon request.
At B+P, we believe that our photographers are equipped to capture all the important moments of your wedding day, including the first kiss, ring exchange, family portraits, rings, bouquets, and guests shots. However, if there are any special moments or individuals that you would like to make sure are captured, we encourage you to let us know. We provide a Day of Questionnaire form 30 days prior to your wedding date, which can assist in reminding you of these important details.
We understand you’ll be excited to see your images! Here’s our timeline for delivering your wedding photos:
Sneak Peek Images: Within 2-3 days after your wedding.
Full Blog Feature: Within 2-3 weeks with select highlights.
Complete Wedding Gallery: Within 3-4 weeks after your event. You’ll have 14 days to review and request any final adjustments.
The photographic equipment required for each wedding can differ, however, our photographers at B+P always come equipped with professional-grade cameras and accessories, including interchangeable lenses, backup camera bodies, fully charged batteries, lighting gear, and more to ensure we capture your special day with the highest quality.
At Bushel + Peck, we believe that every photo deserves the highest level of attention and care. That’s why every image we capture is carefully edited by hand, using a multi-step process that ensures the final result is nothing short of stunning.
Our process includes a thorough culling process, where we carefully select the best shots from your wedding day. We then crop and adjust the images as necessary, removing any blemishes or imperfections and enhancing the lighting to create a cohesive and beautiful final gallery.
With a focus on detail and a commitment to delivering the best possible results, Bushel + Peck is the ideal choice for those who want to ensure their wedding photos are as beautiful and timeless as the memories they capture.
During a full wedding day, our photographers at B+P strive to continuously capture all the important moments. However, they may take a few brief pauses during less active times to hydrate and grab a snack. For wedding packages exceeding 6 hours of coverage, a 20-30 minute break to have a proper meal is necessary, and we kindly request that a meal be provided for each photographer on duty.
